Business Analyst (Digital Engineering)

Company Background Our client is a leading life insurance company, part of a global financial services group. The company offers a wide range of products, including annuities and life insurance, delivered through a large nationwide network of agents. Project Description A Business Analyst in our Investment Systems team will design technology solutions to support investment operations processes including investment and accounting. They would translate business requirements into technical designs, including high level design and detailed field mappings and transformations between two or more investment and accounting systems. This role requires a deep understanding of the structures and their data elements of various asset classes that investment operations deal with daily, especially CMLs, RMLs and private securities, and how they are represented in accounting and investment systems (i.e., PAM and Aladdin). This role also requires a good familiarity with cloud technologies especially the Data Engineering stack on Azure, and related technical concepts. Technologies • SQL • Azure Data Engineering stack (Data Factory, Logic Apps, Databricks) • Snowflake • JSON What You'll Do • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for data synchronization and reconciliation across various asset types; • Define synchronization and reconciliation requirements, including scope, schedules, datasets, filters, data elements, and business rules; • Perform gap analysis to identify missing data elements and inconsistencies in existing solutions; • Analyze business processes and translate business needs into clear functional requirements and technical specifications; • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure proposed solutions meet business and technical objectives; • Maintain comprehensive documentation for requirements, data mappings, and reconciliation logic; Job Requirements • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst; • Deep understanding of investment products, portfolios, asset classes and their structures, especially CMLs, RMLs and private securities, their data elements, and their representation in accounting (especially PAM) and investment (especially Aladdin and Bloomberg) systems; • Experience with financial systems, trading platforms, and portfolio management tools, especially experience with PAM and Aladdin; • Strong understanding of technology stacks used in investment management, operations, and accounting; • Understanding of investment workflows, processes, and regulatory requirements is desired; • Familiarity with investment management concepts and financial markets is desired; • Proficiency in SQL, JSON; • Good understanding of Python, cloud concepts and services; • Knowledge of system design principles and best practices; • Knowledge of security standards and compliance regulations related to financial services preferred; • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools used in investment analysis preferred; • Good understanding of Agile process and experience working on Agile teams; • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentations skills to effectively work with diverse stakeholders; • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions, perform gap analysis, navigate projects with high levels of uncertainty; What Do We Offer The global benefits package includes: • Technical and non-technical training for professional and personal growth; • Internal conferences and meetups to learn from industry experts; • Support and mentorship from an experienced employee to help you professional grow and development; • Health insurance; • Sports activities to promote a healthy lifestyle; • Flexible work options, including remote and hybrid opportunities; • Referral program for bringing in new talent; • Work anniversary program and additional vacation days.
