This role is eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus, subject to the terms and conditions of the Company's sign-on bonus program. We’re seeking a Civil Engineer to be based in Somerset or Greensburg, PA. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience supporting a diverse portfolio of land development projects, including private sector and municipal development. You’ll collaborate with experienced professionals who are committed to mentorship and fostering long-term career growth within a highly collaborative team environment. Your Responsibilities as a Civil Engineer: • Perform detailed civil engineering design for land development projects, including site layout, grading, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and utility design • Support site feasibility studies, due diligence, and zoning/code compliance reviews for a variety of development projects • Prepare and review design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and engineering reports • Assist with permitting and approvals, coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies and responding to agency comments • Collaborate with project managers, planners, and survey teams to ensure projects move efficiently from concept through construction • Track project progress, manage deliverables, and ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards • Participate in client, contractor, and municipal meetings, documenting key decisions and follow-up actions • Provide support during construction, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits as needed • Contribute to proposal development, scope definition, and client presentations • Maintain accurate project documentation, budgets, and progress tracking within internal systems • Actively pursue professional development opportunities, with a focus on advancing within land development engineering What we're looking for: • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. • EIT required, PE preferred or on track • 5+ years of experience, with exposure to site design and land development projects • Experience with PADEP permitting processes and coordination is preferred. • Proficiency in Civil 3D and MS Office; HydroCAD or similar stormwater modeling software preferred; HEC-RAS experience is a plus • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and local permitting processes • Excellent technical communication skills and attention to detail • Commitment to safety and a strong understanding of safe work practices Why you'll love working for us: • Company-subsidized medical and dental. • Company-paid life, short, and long-term disability. • 401k match, tuition assistance, and more. • Cross-training and the ability to work on a variety of projects. • Performance-based bonuses or other incentives. • Working with the best and brightest in the industry. • 2,000+ employee national firm with 70+ locations across the US. #LI-TB1 Apex Job Title: Engineer 3 - Sr Project Engineer Req ID: 11812 We believe in equality for all and celebrate the diversity and differences of our employees, customers, and communities.
