Dental Assistant

We are seeking Dental Assistants who are passionate about making a difference in our community. Our Dental Assistants assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a dentist. Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am - 6:00 pm Work Schedule Includes a $750 Signing Bonus! A Day in the Life of a Dental Assistant may look like this: • Greet and prepare dental patients • Assist dentists during procedures and maintain instruments and supplies • Perform basic and some moderately complex dental procedures • Assisting in handing instruments and materials to dentists and keep patients’ mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment • Prepare trays of instruments for dental procedures and instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care • Recording patients’ health histories • Taking and developing x-rays and preparing dental compounds • Taking pouring and trimming dental impressions and seating temporary restorations We ask our Dental Assistants to possess a minimum of: • High school diploma or GED • Active Texas Dental Assistant License • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross The following experience/skills are preferred: • Experience as a Dental Assistant, minimum of one (1) year • Proficiency with EMR system • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills are a definite plus Key Success Factors Some key factors that will make an individual successful in this role: • The ability to problem solve • Organizational skills • Attention to detail • Team player personality • Time management Benefits LSCC offers a competitive benefits package, including: • Competitive salary; • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance; • LSCC paid Life insurance; • LSCC paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability insurance; • Paid Time Off; and • 403b Employee Retirement Plan
